The process is as follows:

  • Physicians prescribes the appropriate genetic test. All samples are taken in the physician’s office. The 60 second test is painless ad non-invasive.
  • The genetic lab conducts the study and defines the patient’s mutation and metabolic rate.
  • The compounding team establishes dosage cased upon genetic results.
  • The physician, working hand in hand with the compounding team, defines the exact prescriptions based upon genetic results and the patient profile.
  • The patient (adult or child) defines their preferred method of ingestion. (Some drugs are difficult to ingest.) Problems with frequency or quantity can be alleviated by changing a pill to a capsule, a pill to a liquid or flavoring a medication. The patient now has the option to ingest a medication upon ease & preference.

CONSIDERATIONS

A Pharmacogenetics test is used to identify how a specific drug interacts with the body and how to readjust dosage or change to a safer  prescription. It is used to improve a health routine by lowering adverse effects. When switching drugs to avoid a genetic test you run the risk of a catastrophic event. Switching between drugs does not identify the new prescription as a better product for it may include an inferior profile and unidentified genetic risk based upon different enzyme metabolization.
